Daylight Savings 2009 - Spring Forward!

Sunday morning, March 7, 2009 at 2am, depending on your location, you must set your clocks forward one hour.

The new dates to change your clocks are the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November of each year. In March you set your clocks forward, (Spring Forward), and in November you set your clocks back one hour (Fall Back).

It used to be in April and September, but it was changed a while back. It is causing problems with some older electronics that had the old dates pre-programmed in them. But most newer electronics are fine.

There are a few places that do not observe Daylight Savings Time. Arizona, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico do not observe Daylight Savings Time. Some other countries do and some don’t, I won’t list them here.

You should set your clocks before you go to bed so that you will be ready in the morning when you awake. Unless you have an atomic clock which resets it’s self regularly, and is the exact time always. They are, in my opinion, a very good investment. The prices have come down, they run on battery so if the electricity goes out you will still be on time, and they are very precise.

I personally am not sure if I like Daylight Savings Time or not. Sometimes I do, but other times I hate it. It is all a very personal choice. But, we don’t have a choice, except to move to some other part of the world that does not observe Daylight Savings Time or any form of it.

Therefore, tonight be sure to set your clocks forward one hour at 2am to 3am. I’m sorry but you will lose one hour of sleep tonight. But, no worries, you will get it back in November!
